“No Motorized Vehicles” Signs and Fence Installed Along Trail

The Seaton Trail is being damaged by motorcycles and ATV’s. This issue is most prominent along Section 1 (Concession # 3 to Clarke’s Hollow) and Section 3 near the 407 bridge and gravel pit. The Friends of Seaton Trail volunteered


 

Interpretive Signs

The Toronto and Regional Conservation Authority (TRCA) has asked for ideas on potential locations along the Seaton Trail where interpretive signage could serve to educate trail users. These signs could include information on natural processes (floral and/or fauna), cultural points


 

Trailhead Kiosk Signs ETA: End of September

The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority has completed building the kiosk structures for all primary trailheads (Green River, Whitevale, Forestream, and Grand Valley). The final design for the trailhead signs has been approved, sent to be printed and should be


 

30 Meter Re-Route Near Forestream Trail Completed

September 7th, 2010

The Friends successfully completed the opening of a new 30 meter section of trail and closing of the existing trail near Forestream Trail.

It took about 3 hours to complete the task. The volunteers met at the Forestream Trail


 

No unauthorized motor vehicles allowed on trails

August 27th, 2010

There has been an increase this year in the unauthorized use of ATV and dirt bikes on sections of the trail. These vehicles cause heavy erosion and damage to the trails. No unauthorized motor vehicles are allowed on the trails.


 

Cedar trees removed from Whitevale area

There have been reports of cedar trees being removed from the Whitevale area in a pickup truck. If you see something suspicious please get a description of vehicle and people involved and report to the Friends. The Friends will forward


 

CAUTION: Ants on trail

June 17th, 2010

Red ants have been spotted on the Seaton Trail between the 407 bridge and Whitevale. They attract anything that is in there territory so please be careful and don’t stop

The ants may bite your feet, ankle area. Dog walkers
